About Me

Author Laura Swart is passionate about writing and teaching. She has taught academic and creative writing for over twenty-five years, encouraging students to find and raise their writing voices. She was shortlisted for the ReLit Award in 2018, and her poetry appears in numerous literary journals. Laura is particularly interested in collaborating with visual artists to add beauty and complexity to her books and courses. Her degrees and research in education, philosophy, and theology have shaped her pedagogy, her thinking, and her writing.
